The Newly Designed Archion.de and How to Use It.

Archion is a fee-based Protestant German Church record site. You can view actual church records of your German ancestral hometown on this site. In November, Achion announced a number of changes to its website, including a new design, improved search functionality, a restructured menu, and a new download pass. In addition, Archion has now optimized its site for mobile devices. Come learn what’s new, and how to navigate the “new and improved” Archion.

Our speaker will be Carol Swinehart, who has been a member of PALAM since 1977 and is currently the membership chair of the Ohio Chapter. Carol is a retired teacher, Ohio-Pal-Am, and National Pal-Am Board member. Her study of German started in High School and continued in college and as an adult through the mentoring of Arta Johnson, a Professor of German at OSU and an original Pal-Am member. Carol has been reading German documents since 1977. She helped translate many of the German-American Church records published by the Fairfield County Chapter of OGS. Her research includes the German speaking areas: Bavaria, Baden-Wuertemberg, Hesse, Niedersachen, Switzerland, and Westphalia. She is the author of several genealogy books on the Schweinharts and Schaedels as well as a book on Gravestone Art.

This talk is free, and we hope to see you online. To register, e-mail ckfsmail@gmail.com, and put “Ohio PALAM GFS” on the subject line. We get so many emails; please be sure to use that specific title so that you can be sure to get registered and receive your ZOOM link. Send your questions when you register so we know what you are most interested in.
